About
Matthew Cubillos is a Hispanic actor originating from El Paso, Texas. His journey in performance began during his sophomore year in high school, and upon graduating, he pursued a Theatre major at Texas Tech University. There, he immersed himself in numerous productions and served as a Theatre Arts Ambassador for the department, earning a BFA in Acting in 2019.
Matthew also spent time as an acting apprentice at Williamstown Theatre Festival. There, he had the privilege of collaborating with and learning from esteemed artists, teaching him the intricacies of professional theater. Throughout his career, Matthew has worked with notable playwrights and directors, including Steve Yockey, Martyna Majok, Michael Legg, and Jesse Jou.
Since relocating to NYC, Matthew has contributed to various theater projects, including regional productions, short films, new play readings, and workshops. He revels in breathing new life into classic plays while embracing the development of new works.
As an artist, Matthew is deeply committed to fostering empathy and representation in the arts. He continuously strives to celebrate diverse identities and spark meaningful conversations.
